Meeting One Another Where We Are

Each day I step into our Unearthed Homestead storefront, I am reminded that this space is about so much more than what sits on the shelves. I am meeting our community one person at a time—sharing stories, exchanging smiles, holding space—and I find myself both deeply honored and deeply changed by these moments.
As a small, Black-owned family business in a predominantly white space, I carry curiosity with me. Not fear. Curiosity about how showing up with intention, humility, and love can gently soften places that may have never been asked to slow down before. How simply being present can begin healing—of culture, of perception, of mind, body, and soul.
Unearthed Homestead was created to encourage a different way of living. A simpler way. One rooted in care, not excess. We believe in no waste—not just of resources, but of people, stories, and connection. We believe in loving each other in a way that is patient, honest, and spacious. The kind of love that allows people to show up as they are, without needing to explain or perform.
This space is an invitation.
An invitation to gather around community table, to learn together through workshops to build relationships that may look unconventional but feel deeply true. To speak honestly and listen openly.
We want to create room for truth—not the loud kind, but the kind that settles in your chest and reminds you that you belong.
Giving back is part of our rhythm. So is slowing down. So is choosing intention over convenience. We believe that when we live simply, we make room for what matters most. When we reduce waste, we honor the earth and one another. When we create space, we allow healing to unfold naturally.
We did not open this shop to have all the answers. We opened it to ask better questions—and to walk alongside our community as we discover the answers together.
Each person who walks through our door brings something with them. And each time, I am reminded that connection doesn’t have to be complicated to be meaningful.
May this be a place where you can rest. May it be a place where you feel seen. And may it remind us all that love, when practiced simply and intentionally, is powerful enough to change everything.
